Terms of Service

Barnes Home Improvements is a family remodeling and repair business in Wooster, Ohio, run by Al and Cody Barnes and working here since 1996. These terms cover using this website, asking us for an estimate, and the text messages we send. Using the site means you are alright with them.

Estimates and quotes

Estimates are free and given in writing. Prices on an estimate hold for 30 days unless the estimate says otherwise. An estimate is not a contract: work starts when we both agree on the scope and the schedule. If we open a wall and find something nobody could have seen, we stop, tell you the same day, and give you the revised number before we carry on. We do not do surprise invoices.

Payment

Nothing down. On major projects the first payment comes after our first full day of work in your home, and the balance waits for your walk-through. Labor is itemized and materials are billed at cost with receipts shown.

Text messages

If you tick the SMS box on our estimate form, you agree we may text you at the number you gave us: transactional messages and alerts about that estimate and your job (appointment reminders, job updates), and occasional promotional messages about an offer. Consent is never a condition of purchase — you can leave the box unticked and we will still quote your work.

Message frequency varies with the job and is low. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Opting out of texts does not stop us calling you back about work you asked us to quote. We never sell, rent or share your phone number, and we do not buy, rent or use purchased, rented or affiliate lead lists.

Age

You must be 18 or older to request an estimate, to hire us, or to opt in to text messages from Barnes Home Improvements. This website and our SMS program are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us their details, call or text (330) 621-5810 and we will delete them.

Using this site

The words, photographs and drawings on this site are ours. The job photographs are our own work, in customers' homes, used with permission. Please do not copy them onto another contractor's website. Do not use this site or its forms to send anything unlawful, or to harvest contact details.

Accuracy

We keep this site current and honest, but a website is not a quote. Where anything here disagrees with your written estimate, the written estimate is the one that counts. Service areas and hours can change.
